Sunday is the deadline for book clubs and reading groups to request complimentary copies of the April issue of Poetry magazine. The magazine’s publisher, The Poetry Foundation, will make 10 copies available free of charge to each group in exchange for a brief account of each group’s experience reading the magazine. The idea is that discussion of the issue’s thought-provoking content, both poetry and commentary, or the simple act of reading the works aloud will foster an appreciation of poetry. The April issue celebrates National Poetry Month. Copies will ship in late March. Groups may request additional copies for $1.75 each. Requests will be accepted online at www.poetryfoundation.org (click on the orange “Reading Group Offer” box). One mailing address is allowed for each group.
