File suit to get money for schools
Re: “Fight the commissioners,” (Times editorial, Feb. 17). I like the idea of getting the money from Hamilton County. Get a school board member to file a lawsuit on behalf of the students in his or her district. I don’t understand why (Superintendent) Jim Scales, who is under a lot of pressure for all kinds of good things he has done, should take the heat for the school board. The school board should get the money. Get Chairman Fairchild to file the suit.
The Chattanooga Times on behalf of employees who have students in the Hamilton County schools should file the lawsuit. If not the newspaper, I believe the citizens of Hamilton County should file a class action lawsuit against the county or a recall referendum. Making Jim Scales the point on this action is putting him in an untenable situation.
As a Georgia resident, I am not a person with standing who can sue Hamilton County.
