Over the past two years, Anne Young has been volunteering her time every other week leading a book club for teens with special needs. The teens involved had the opportunity to discuss their opinions of current issues and usually digressed into personal conversations. This is no small feat when you consider that teens who face developmental challenges struggle to find social outlets with peers. Anne gave them the opportunity to express themselves, independent of their families.
Anne has given up time with her family to enrich the lives of these teens. As parents, we wanted to send a heartfelt thank you to Anne for sharing her time and her talent, always with a smile. And a much needed thank you to her husband and children who juggled their schedules to allow her to volunteer.
