Auditions for the Lee University Children’s Chorale will be held Tuesday from 5 to 7 p.m. and Saturday, Jan. 22, from 10 a.m. to noon in Cleveland, Tenn.
The chorale is a community choir established in 1996 to provide supplemental singing experiences for Cleveland children in grades 3-8. The chorale is under the direction of Sarah Phillips Burris, general music educator at Hopewell Elementary.
Burris said that auditioning students should be prepared to sing the first verse of “America,” more commonly known as “My Country ’tis of Thee.” Students who were members of the chorale in previous semesters must also schedule an audition.
Chorale tuition is $100 for the semester, and parents are responsible for purchasing a uniform. Rehearsals are held on Mondays from 6 to 7:30 p.m. in the Curtsinger Music Building. Rehearsals will begin Jan. 24.
