Hixson residents will meet at 7 p.m. Thursday at Hixson United Methodist Church to discuss the possibility of turning the old Hixson Middle School into a recreation and senior citizens center.
Residents say they are concerned that they’ve been planning the recreation center since 2002, but it still hasn’t happened.
Hixson residents are taxpayers, yet all 15 recreation centers that exist in the city are south of the river, said long-time Hixson resident Ed Gravitte.
