Oh, there’s lots to see and do at this weekend’s Chattanooga Boat & Sport Show 2011, according to producer Keith Parker, but what he hopes is not a dirty, little secret is that the show is the best place to buy a boat.

“It kicks off the boat sale season,” he said of the show, which stretches across 100,000 square feet at the Chattanooga Convention Center. “It’s very much a selling show. If somebody’s thinking about buying one, they get the best deals there.”

The variety of 2011 boats ranges from cruisers and pleasure boats to fishing boats to paddleboats and personal watercraft.

In addition to boats, outdoors lovers also can look over fishing tackle and equipment, marine equipment, water skies, marinas, boat lifts, watersport accessories, swimwear, jackets and inflatables. Financial firms and insurance companies also will be on hand.

A number of items, such as custom rods, will be offered at wholesale prices, according to Parker, co-owner of producing BK Productions.
