DAYTON, Tenn. — The architecture firm studying Rhea County Jail and courthouse security problems has identified two “viable” options, its president said this week.

Vance Travis, president of Chattanooga-based TWH Architects, displayed three picture-board illustrations for the county jail committee but said that “only two are viable, in our opinion.”

The first option would include expansion of the downtown jail into its parking lot and Court Street, which would be closed for use as parking for officers, judges and the public.
