Kimball OKs 2 paving projects

Arkansas-Ole Miss Live Blog

KIMBALL, Tenn. – Even though the cost of paving roads can be immense for a small town, city administrators here don’t want to slow the pace they’ve set.

The Kimball Board of Mayor and Aldermen recently unanimously approved the paving of two roads, at a cost estimated at $78,693.

“We try to pave a couple of roads a year,” Kimball Mayor David Jackson said. “[County Road Superintendent Neal Webb] said that price is probably a little high. He is telling me that the price of asphalt is going to come down in the month of August.”

Two roads the town paved last year came in about $5,000 under the estimated cost, he said.

Officials said the paving work will include Boyd Avenue for $13,717 and a nearly 2,600-foot section of Lofty Drive for $64,976.
