The Museum Center at Five Points in Cleveland, Tenn., will host an evening of oral history sharing Tuesday for those who peacefully integrated Cleveland’s restaurants and other public places during the civil-rights movement in the early 1960s.
“All are invited to share their stories, whether black or white, about their memories of this important time in our nation’s history,” said Executive Director Lisa Simpson Lutts in a news release.
The free program is co-sponsored with 100 Black Men of Bradley County Inc and Cleveland-Bradley County NAACP.
The educational event is part of the museum’s programming to accompany “We Shall Not Be Moved: 51st Anniversary of Tennessee’s Civil Rights Sit-Ins.” The traveling exhibit from the Tennessee State Museum in Nashville will run through July 20.
