More than 5,000 rubber duckies will be tossed from the Walnut Street Bridge at 5 p.m. Saturday in this year’s Great Kiwanis Duck Race.
The Chattanooga Kiwanis Club Youth Foundation has named First Things First as a beneficiary of proceeds. The nonprofit organization is dedicated to strengthening marriages and families.
Ducks will float to the finish line at the Chattanooga Pier along the riverfront.
Each duck is numbered and has a corresponding ticket. The fastest floating duck will win $2,000 for the ticketholder. The prize for second place is $1,000 and $500 for third place.
Ducks may be adopted for $5. You must be 18 to participate, and proof of age is required. The winner need not be present to win.
To adopt a duck, visit the First Things First office at 620 Lindsay St., Suite 100, or go online to www.firstthings.org. Tickets purchased online will be mailed.
