Sean Stackhouse had good hands in high school, hands he didn’t get to use catching passes during his time at the University of Kentucky.
Since transferring to the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga in January, the 6-foot-4, 255-pound Stackhouse is happy to be running routes and being used as a receiver, rather than just as a blocking tight end.
“It is nice catching the ball again,” Stackhouse, a rising junior, said before the Mocs’ practice Wednesday night at Finley Stadium. “It feels good.”
Stackhouse and redshirt freshman Faysal Shafaat are the Mocs’ only tight ends this spring. That’s twice as many as UTC had during the 2010 season, when Garrett Hughes was the only one.
The Mocs also signed two last month in McCallie’s Jarrod Coleman and Troy Dye of Hendersonville High School.
