The Ringgold Christian Businessmen’s Association will host two showings of the Lionsgate film “The Way Home” on Saturday at the Catoosa County Colonnade in Ringgold, Ga.
Shot on location in Carroll County, Ga., the film stars Dean Cain, Dalton native Lori Beth Edgeman and Sonny Shroyer.
“The story follows the experiences of Randy and Christal Simpkins of Carrollton, Ga., whose 2-year-old son disappeared,” said Randall Franks, member of the RCBA. “The community comes together full force to support this family, and the movie shares the inspiring story of how it changed the lives of this family.”
Edgeman, the Simpkinses and their former pastor, Jerry Little, who also is portrayed in the film, will appear in person to talk about their experiences in making the film.
Little, who leads the Catoosa Baptist Association, said he and his son were among the first group to begin looking for Joe Simpkins when he disappeared. He said he is hopeful the film will touch many hearts.
Seating has been reserved for clergy and first responders from the community. Remaining seating is first-come, first served for 5 and 8 p.m. showings.
Admission is free. For information, e-mail Ringgold CBA@gmail.com. Learn more about the film at www.theway home-movie.com.
