It was an act of bravado that changed lives forever.
Myles Stout, 20, pointed a loaded .40-caliber handgun at two people, according to testimony Thursday in General Sessions Judge David Bales’ courtroom.
“He was messing around. He had it in his hand. He pointed it at me. It made me nervous,” testified Amanda Freeman.
She was at her boyfriend Kevin Driscoll’s 9125 Stoney Mountain Drive house with some other young people on March 9 when Stout reportedly pressed the handgun to 18-year-old Myles Compton’s chest.
Witnesses said Compton retreated with his hands up, and Stout pulled the trigger. With the gun still pressed against him, Compton clutched his chest and said, “My heart,” before dying, said Kevin West, Compton’s best friend, who also testified Thursday.
