Editorial spotlights ‘buddy’ system
Kudos for the editorial, “A haunted school system,” May 15. I feel it sums up a lot of Chattanooga people’s feelings with regard to the “good ole buddy” system headed by Skillern and his cohorts. Also reminds us of the Bookie Turner era and his good ole buddy system.
As you very well point out, Skillern’s actions along with his very offensive language make the city of Chattanooga ashamed of such behavior.
One thing needed emphasizing is that the chairman of the School Board is certainly of the age he should retire. And I wonder what benefits a hair dresser can bring to an education board. Maybe the next election will allow the citizens to express their displeasure at the polls.
