Wacker plant moving ahead
Construction continues to ramp up on Wacker Polysilicon’s Bradley County, Tenn., plant.
Over a half dozen cranes could be seen recently stretching over the construction site near Charleston.
Also, a parking lot off Lauderdale Memorial Highway has been set up for the vehicles of construction workers, who are bused into the nearby site.
Wacker, which will make polysilicon used in the solar power industry, plans to employ about 650 people at the $1.5 billion plant that’s slated for completion in late 2013.
