Chamber hosting economic summitt

Local business owners and professionals will get an opportunity to ask Chattanooga, Collegedale, Regional Planning Agency and Chattanooga Area Chamber of Commerce representatives questions related to economic growth at an upcoming Business Economic Development Summit.

The one-hour panel discussion will be part of the Ooltewah/Collegedale Council of the Chattanooga Area Chamber of Commerce’s monthly general membership meeting June 20. Networking will begin at 8:45 a.m. with the meeting officially starting at 9 a.m.

“The goal is basically to give a platform for some government and related organizations to give the business community information in terms of what’s coming down the road,” said the council’s economic development committee chairman Joshua Michalski. “People should come prepared with questions about economic issues.”

One subject he said the panel will not be discussing is Agenda 21.

“I’ve been informed that our panel members do not have enough information to adequately answer questions, and with that in mind, I feel like there’s nothing more we can add to the conversation,” Michalski said.
