Green Drinks

March is, in many ways, the most exciting month of the year, our annual right of passage from the cold, dark winter days to the first signs of spring. For sports enthusiasts, the NCAA’s “March Madness” basketball tournament takes center stage before giving way to baseball’s annual spring training.

Music lovers gather this time every year in Austin for the South by Southwest Music Festival to revel in the new releases of some of the world’s most talented musicians. And on March 17th, green emerges in full bloom as we celebrate St. Patrick’s Day.

What better way to usher in this new season than with a selection of green-inspired beverages. (And do us a favor – forget the green beer. If you want to celebrate the Irish tradition with a cold one, reach for a Guinness instead.)

JAMESON AND GINGER

This is a simple and classic twist to the whiskey highball, using Irish whiskey instead of rye or bourbon. Easy to make and refreshing, this is the “bespoke” of Irish cocktail.

Recipe: Pour 1 1/2 parts Jameson Irish Whiskey into a highball glass with ice. Fill with ginger ale, garnish with a fresh-squeezed lime wedge and stir.
