The man who caused a three-vehicle wreck involving a school bus on Dayton Boulevard has been charged with driving under the influence — an offense he already pleaded guilty to five years ago, according to court records.
Police arrested David Asher Looper, 30, on Wednesday, the same day as the wreck, and charged him with driving under the influence, reckless endangerment and other related offenses.
At least two people were treated for minor injuries after the incident, but no students on the bus were injured, said Red Bank Police Chief Tim Christol.
“The important thing we are thankful for is that no students were hurt today,” Christol said Wednesday.
The school bus carrying Red Bank Middle School students was pulling to a stop in the 3000 block of the busy road to let passengers off when Looper’s Jeep hit the back of a minivan, which then rammed into the back of the bus.
