Children’s Learning Center turns 30

The Children’s Learning Center of Erlanger at Hutcheson is celebrating a birthday tomorrow, its own.

Since it was founded in 1982, the Learning Center has provided quality child care services to the hospital’s staff and the entire North Georgia community.

From 4:30-6 p.m. on Thursday, May 17, the center invites past and present family, friends and members of the community to a reception commemorating three decades of service.

“We started with 23 children in a small brick building on Barnhardt Circle,” Director Jill Cofer said. “The Learning Center has been nationally accredited since 1986 and today we have more than 145 enrolled.”

Thanks to a generous donor the CLC was able to build a more spacious and modern facility in 1998. The center now provides infant care, preschool and summer care programs to children ranging from 6 weeks to 12 years of age.
