Threshold Choir seeks members

An introduction to the Threshold Choir is set for 6 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday at St. Martin’s Episcopal Church, 7547 East Brainerd Road.

The workshop will include a chance to meet and sing with Kate Munger, founder of Threshold Choir, a nationwide network of almost 100 choirs whose mission is “kindness made audible,” by singing softly at the bedsides of those at the thresholds of life.

Threshold singers typically visit for about 20 minutes in groups of two to four. They choose songs to respond to the client’s musical taste, spiritual direction and responsiveness. Because the songs are not religiously oriented, they are appropriate for those who are deeply spiritual, whether religious or not, says the group’s website, thresholdchoir.org.

Wednesday’s meeting is designed to be a “fun, informal and enriching session of music at its personal best.”

Registration will start at 5:30 p.m. in the parish hall. Those attending have the option of joining a church-hosted dinner at 5 p.m.
