ATLANTA – Atlanta police say a missing toddler who was the subject of a missing child alert has been found safe.

Police said in a statement shortly after 7 a.m. today that 2-year-old Guadalupe Aguayo was found near the intersection of the Downtown Connector and Interstate 20.

The child’s father, Ramon Aguayo, had told police that he left Guadalupe with his roommate’s girlfriend. Police say that when the father and the roommate returned to the residence at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, the child and the girlfriend were not at the location. The roommate’s 1996 Ford Ranger was also missing from the location.

Details about how the child was located were not immediately available.
