Nolan students learn about Native American culture

Lessons came to life for first-graders at Nolan Elementary School recently. Cherokees from Red Clay Historic State Park visited to introduce the students to their culture as part of the students’ current studies on Native Americans. Students listened to a storyteller, watched a woodcarver, sampled Native American food, watched a dance, played stick ball, tried archery and made a craft.
