At least for the next couple of days, the primary focus for the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga men’s basketball team won’t be on an upcoming game.

Finals will get the majority of their attention, with basketball a close second.

The Mocs are in the midst of finals this week, which their next game not until Monday when they host NAIA Division II member Montreat College, coached by former UTC guard Lincoln Walters. That will be the next chance to wash the bad tastes out of their mouths after a 31-point loss to the University of Georgia on Tuesday, along with a nine-point loss at Kennesaw State last Saturday.

The Georgia loss marked the end of an 18-day, eight-game gauntlet to start the season, which included road games at No. 2-ranked Wisconsin and No. 23-ranked Butler, as well as closer games at Tennessee Tech and Kennesaw.

UTC head coach Will Wade gave the team Wednesday off, as five of the players had 8 a.m. exams, but they have three or four good practices lingering prior to the Montreat game.
