A traffic stop on Signal Mountain this afternoon led to a short car chase, a crash, an arrest, and a man fleeing the scene on foot.
Sequatchie County Sheriff’s Officers attempted to pull over a white Lincoln, but the car drove away, causing a short pursuit. The car eventually crashed into a tree and the driver ran away, according to a news release from the Sequatchie County Sheriff’s Office.
Officers searched the car and found an ounce of methamphetamine. They arrested a passenger, Lisa Leann Ledford, 27, of Dunlap, the release said.
The Sheriff’s Office is currently looking for the driver, Justin Tyler Levi, 29, of Signal Mountain. He is described as a white male, approximately 5 feet, 11 inches tall, weighing 145 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes. Anyone with information regarding Levi’s whereabouts is asked to call 423-949-7750.
Ledford has been charged with felony possession of methamphetamine for resale, and is being held in the Sequatchie County Jail, without bond. She is scheduled to appear in Sequatchie County General Sessions Court on Jan. 15, according to the release.
