Cross-Train

Shorter days and colder weather are no excuse to slack off on your training. The open road may be a little cold, but you can still cross train with workouts perfect for keeping your form tight and your body injury free.

The winter months are perfect to introduce different workouts to your running regimen, says Iron Tribe Fitness Chattanooga head coach Chris Oakley. “I would say, for runners, it’s good to just do anything different. Iron Tribe

Iron Tribe focuses on weight lifting, body lifting and cardio to provide a workout for any body type to enhance your ability for any activity, Oakley says. Some exercises include lunges, squats, burpees – all functional movements that runners can benefit from strengthening.
