The Chattanooga Lookouts collected 13 hits and watched Montgomery commit three errors Tuesday night at AT&T Field, but they couldn’t capitalize in a 7-6 loss to the Biscuits.
Chattanooga lost its sixth consecutive game and fell to 10-20 in the Southern League’s second half and to 36-64 overall. Tuesday’s game was the 100th of the season for the Lookouts, who have 38 remaining.
The Lookouts took their lone lead of the night at 5-4 in the fourth inning on Darnell Sweeney’s RBI double to right field, but Richie Shaffer’s RBI double to left keyed Montgomery’s two-run fifth inning that put the Biscuits ahead to stay.
Montgomery stretched its lead to 7-5 in the eighth inning on Hector Guevara’s double to left. Later in the eighth, the Lookouts pulled within 7-6 on O’Koyea Dickson’s home run to left.
