Dogs may be man’s best friend, but crappie fishing could prove to be one of dog’s best friends. At least on April 13 at Chester Frost Park on Lake Chickamauga.
That’s when the second annual Crappie for Canines Tournament will be held to benefit the Goodwill Assistance Dog Academy of Chattanooga, an organization
that provides therapy and service dogs for disabled children and adults in the Chattanooga area.
The tournament will start at the boat ramp at Chester Frost Park, and the entry fee is $30 per boat, which can hold up to two anglers. At the end of the day, the five biggest crappie from each boat will be weighed and the first-place boat will win $300, according to the event’s Facebook page. Second place will win a Tow Boat U.S. membership and other prizes, and third place will win a fishing tackle package from DJ Marine and Electronics.
