NEW YORK (AP) – Alex Cobb of the Tampa Bay Rays has not given up a hit through six innings against the New York Yankees.

The only runner allowed by Cobb came on an error by center fielder Kevin Kiermaier, who dropped Stephen Drew’s long fly to left-center leading off the third Thursday night. Tampa Bay leads 4-0 on a pair of homers by Yunel Escobar, the first multihomer game of his career.

Cobb has struck out three and thrown 76 pitches, 54 for strikes. The right-hander has not yielded more than two runs in any of his past 11 starts, a club record.
