Chattanooga crushed Nashville in the first round of the 'Top Towns' competition hosted by an outdoors magazine.

The Scenic City now competes against Charleston S.C. in the second round, according to the Blue Ridge Outdoors magazine website.

Two other Tennessee cities have also moved forward in the contest. Johnson City is competing against Greenville S.C. in the medium towns category, and Knoxville is facing Atlanta in another large town matchup.

The three winning towns will be featured in the November issue of the publication.
