The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga football team picked up a commitment Monday from Missouri transfer Thomas Richard, a wide receiver who spent the last two seasons with the Southeastern Conference program.

“Officially committed to the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga,” Richard wrote on his Twitter page. Another tweet said, “Let’s go win the Natty #GoMocs.”

Richard, who celebrated a birthday on Monday, is a former consensus three-star prospect that prepped at Christ Presbyterian Academy. His brother Joseph, a high school senior, recently committed to the Mocs.

The 6-foot-1, 190-pound Richard, who will have three seasons with the Mocs, had one catch for four yards in the Tigers’ season opener. He played 14 snaps in the first three games, but didn’t play in the next five games and decided to transfer in October.

He had 67 catches for 1,103 yards and 14 touchdowns as a high school senior in 2013. His quarterback that senior, Zack Weatherly, is another three-star prospect that is committed to UTC.

Richard becomes the program’s 10th commitment for the 2016 recruiting class.
