University of Tennessee at Chattanooga offensive lineman Corey Levin and defensive lineman Keionta Davis earned Football Championship Subdivision second-team All-America honors from The Associated Press on Wednesday.
It’s the second consecutive season the 6-foot-5, 305-pound Levin has been honored by AP. The two-time Southern Conference Jacobs Blocking Award winner was a third-team honoree in 2014. Behind him and his fellow linemen, the Mocs averaged 241.9 yards rushing and 415.4 yards of total offense in 2015.
Davis set a school record with 13.5 sacks in 2015, his first season as a starter. He totaled 17 tackles for loss and was a first-team All-SoCon selection.
It’s the third All-America honor for the duo, as they were honored by College Sports Madness recently and by STATS FCS on Tuesday. Levin was listed as first team by both CSM and STATS, while Davis was second-team for both.
Healy APSU finalist
UTC wide receivers coach and recruiting coordinator Will Healy is one of seven finalists for the vacant Austin Peay head coaching job, according to FootballScoop.com.
Healy was one of 100 applicants for the job. The process was whittled down to 10-12 phone interviews conducted within the last couple of weeks, and APSU athletic director Ryan Ivey hopes to have a decision made on a new coach by Dec. 21.
Healy was a two-time all-state selection and a state Mr. Football finalist at Boyd-Buchanan. He went to Richmond, which won a national championship his final season, and then followed Spiders defensive coordinator Russ Huesman to UTC when Huesman became the Mocs’ head coach.
