Local weather
WRCB reports a Flood Watch continues across all of north Georgia until 7 p.m. Friday. See a forecast here.
The atmosphere will remain unseasonably warm and moist and another round of rain and storms will begin moving into the area tonight and will continue into Friday night.
Some storms may be severe with damaging winds possible, according to the National Weather Service.
The rain is expected to be heavy at times and total rainfall amounts of 1-3 inches or more are expected. With the ground already quite wet in most areas, runoff from this additional rain is expected to cause flooding of low lying and flood prone areas, as well as rivers and streams.
A flood warning is in effect for Polk County in Tennessee and Fannin, Floyd, Gilmer, Gordon, Murray and Whitfield counties in Georgia.
