The body of Alice “Tiny” Reynolds was found by two family members using a fishing boat on the Tennessee River.

Authorities confirmed today that the body was found at approximately 11 a.m.

Steve Lamb, director of Marion County EMA, said that due to extreme water levels from several days of record-level rain, volunteer responders searching for the victim had confined their search to streams leading up to the river rather than the river itself before today.

He said that because of their uncertainty about expected weather today, searchers had planned on a minimal response today with only one crew. The larger, full response that was planned for Thursday after water levels had time to recede would have involved approximately 10-12 boats.

According to Lamb, two family members offered to use their own fishing boat to conduct a search independently from the other organized crew and Lamb indicated to them where Reynold’s body was most likely to be found.
