CLEVELAND, Tenn. — Bradley County and a Spanish-language interpreter are approaching a settlement over allegations of thousands of dollars in unpaid services performed in General Sessions Court that date back to 2005.

In a recent meeting, the Bradley County Commission voted 14-0 to authorize County Attorney Crystal Freiberg to offer up to $15,000 to settle a case filed in Chancery Court by plaintiff Mark Weissenberg in March 2012.

This week, Freiberg indicated that a resolution is in the works.

“We have a verbal settlement at this time,” she said. “We are currently in the process of finalizing documents.”

Weissenberg said he would decline comment until the settlement was done.
