A conference designed to help women and girls to become entrepreneurs will be held at Girls Preparatory School on Feb. 28 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Called “Mad, Bad & Dangerous,” the event is free. Organizers said the aim is to help women “ditch expectations, break ceilings and do business” and establishing the female voice in technology, startups and business.
They said it’s inspired by and builds on the legacy of GPS’s three founders, women who started a business in 1906 as a solution to the lack of educational opportunities afforded to women. As a prelude to the conference, high school students from area schools will participate in Co.Lab’s 24Hour Generator: Girl Edition modeled after the 48Hour Launch.
Conference keynote speakers are Renee and Lily Sandler, founders of Blamtastic, a consumer goods company with product lines in baby care, skin care, and others.
