BUDAPEST, Hungary (AP) – Hungarian Prime Minister Victor Orban has denounced multiculturalism and liberalism and vowed to fight a wave of migration that he says is threatening to turn his country into a “refugee camp.”

Orban spoke Friday in his annual “state of the nation” speech, an address that touched on a range of economic and political issues. He said his government had abandoned neo-liberal economic policies like austerity measures and liberal social policies that reject Christian culture. He also called a multicultural society “a delusion.”

He declared “the Hungarian man is, by nature, politically incorrect. That is, he has not lost his common sense.”

Orban has been criticized in the West for declaring last year that he wanted his nation to be an “illiberal” state.
