Funeral plans set for all five slain service members

Funeral and visitation arrangements have been finalized for all five of the service members who died from the July 16 attack that happened at two Chattanooga military facilities.

Staff Sgt. David Wyatt

Staff Sgt. David Wyatt will be the first laid to rest. His funeral is scheduled for Friday, July 23, at Hixson United Methodist Church. He will be buried at the Chattanooga National Cemetery. The church will open at 11:30 for funeral attendees, but the family has asked that seats be reserved for Wyatt's family and friends, military personnel, and local law enforcement and dignitaries.

There will be a procession from the church to the Chattanooga National Cemetery from about 2:45 to about 3:15 or so. The public is invited to line the procession route, which will follow Old Hixson Pike to Austin Road to Hixson Pike to South Highway 153 to Amnicola to Wilicox Boulevard to Holtzclaw and into the National Cemetery.

Sgt. Carson Holmquist

Sgt. Carson Holmquist will be remembered in his hometown of Grantsburg, Wisc., on July 25. There will be a visitation from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Grantsburg High School, where Holmquist graduated in 2008. Then, there will be a private family service at 1 p.m.

Lance Cpl. Skip Wells

On Sunday, July 26, Lance Cpl. Skip Wells will be honored. His funeral will be held at 2 p.m. at First Baptist Church in Woodstock, Ga. He will then be buried at Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, Ga.

There will be a visitation with the family from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on both Friday and Saturday at Winkenhofer Pine Ridge Funeral Home in Kennesaw, Ga.

Gunnery Sgt. Thomas J. Sullivan

Gunnery Sgt. Thomas J. Sullivan will be buried on Monday, July 27, in his hometown of Springfield, Mass. Visiting hours are from 1-5 p.m. on Sunday at T.P. Sampson Chapel of The Acres in Springfield. Burial will follow at the Massachusetts Veterans' Memorial Cemetery in Agawam, Mass.

Petty Officer 2nd Class Randall Smith

Petty Officer 2nd Class Randall Smith will be laid to rest on Tuesday, July 28. The service will be held at Heritage Funeral Home in Fort Oglethorpe, Ga., and he will be buried at the Chattanooga National Cemetery.
