Leslie Kidwell Robertson of the Revitalize Port Angeles Facebook group took a red-eye from Seattle to Chattanooga, arriving on July 29 with signed sympathy banners for the people of Chattanooga.

The two cities were fierce rivals in Outside magazine's Best Town Ever contest, but buried the hatchet when a 24-year-old gunman opened fire at two Chattanooga military installations, killing five service members.

Robertson will present the messages of sympathy in a ceremony on Thursday.
