Mariners’ Montgomery has no-hitter through 6 vs Padres

SAN DIEGO (AP) – Seattle Mariners rookie Mike Montgomery is pitching a no-hitter through six innings against the San Diego Padres.

Making just his sixth start, Montgomery has struck out five, walked three and hit a batter Tuesday night. The left-hander has thrown 77 pitches and the Mariners lead 4-0.

Montgomery is coming off his first shutout, a five-hitter against Kansas City.
