A group of vandals defaced State Sen. Todd Gardenhire's office in the Morgan Stanley building on Tuesday with chalk, criticizing his stance on healthcare.
Gardenhire publicly opposed Gov. Bill Haslam's Insure Tennessee plan over concerns that state would be on the hook for more money than it could afford.
The chalk activists used hashtags in their graffiti to draw attention to Gardenhire's position on healthcare. They also drew outlines of dead bodies on the ground outside the main doors to Gardenhire's office.
It is unclear what prompted this specific attack, though it's not the first such protest over the issue. Reporters have reached out to Gardenhire for a comment but have not heard back.
Chalk is typically washable and doesn't permanently mar most surfaces.
