Good Deed: Brainerd High thanked for honoring Betty Lumpkin

Brainerd High thanked for honoring Betty Lumpkin

Thank you, Brainerd High School, for dedicating the school’s library in honor of Betty Lumpkin. Under the direction of Principal Uras Agee III, the faculty, students, family, friends and colleagues gathered together in a beautiful ceremony to recognize and honor Betty’s contributions to Brainerd High School. The event unveiled the name of the library as the Betty Lumpkin Memorial Library, an act that will honor her contributions and legacy forever.

Even though she battled cancer during the last years of her life, Betty was a tireless educator who taught and served 50 years in the Chattanooga City and Hamilton County school systems. Through her efforts, countless students will continue to benefit from her expertise, technological abilities and love of helping others every time they access information in the Betty Lumpkin Memorial Library.
