Five pounds of methamphetamine valued at $205,500, two long guns, a pistol, a vehicle and $8,077 in cash were seized from a home in the Painter community Monday.

Marty Glen Taylor, 41, was charged with trafficking in illegal drugs and drug paraphernalia, according to a news release from the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office. The investigation included the sheriff’s office, the DeKalb County Drug Task Force and the Marshall County Drug Task Force.

The release said, so far in November, the sheriff’s office has made arrests in five drug-trafficking cases and confiscated about seven pounds of methamphetamine valued at $317,800.

“Our task force is doing an outstanding job not only in our county but working with other counties and agencies, as well,” DeKalb County Sheriff Jimmy Harris said in the release. “This is why it has been made possible for them to seize this much ice methamphetamine.”
