Following the terrorist attacks in Paris, our public officials, who are elected to “support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic [and] bear true faith and allegiance to the same,” should answer a few questions for the American public.
First, for those who refuse to address the terrorists as Islamic radicals: Why, as your actions demonstrate, is such care taken in defining these Islamic radicals as they behead, kidnap for ransom and inflict unadulterated terror on innocents in their efforts to spread their religious beliefs, while law-abiding American Judeo-Christians are criticized for simply wanting to protect our nation’s safety and the integrity of our freedoms?
Why, Mr. President and members of Congress, do American citizens, day by day, find themselves criticized as “extremists” for their desire to protect American’s sovereignty, the self-governance of the United States and equal enforcement of the law? Why are laws enforced aggressively and strictly on American working families to pay taxes, show legal ownership of property and find themselves held to account for failing to observe myriad laws, regulations and statutes while countless exceptions and exemptions are made for the masses of illegal immigrants and those who receive corporate welfare?
Why do you blatantly mock the legitimate concerns of law-abiding citizens who simply want to protect their own property, jobs and wages through the ownership of a gun, through legal immigration enforcement and through our national security by plainly identifying and defeating the enemy who has declared Americans their enemies?
Why is there such determination to “transform” America by destroying our personal liberties and freedoms through defending and even encouraging an approach to our civil society that includes violent protests and disrespectful and destructive demands made by the entitled and petulant who despise the very premise on which their freedoms and pursuits are based?
A final question: Why are too many of you timid in defending America first and standing fast and doggedly against “enemies foreign and domestic” who have been empowered by their unchallenged, and yes, enabled, criticism, and attacks on America through war, financial extortion, cyberwar and ideology?
These questions expose realities in America.
It’s time to defeat America’s enemies. Just recently, none of the three Democrats seeking their party’s presidential nomination dared use the phrase “radical Islamic terror” to describe the well-orchestrated attacks on Paris the day before. Where is their backbone? Invertebrates can’t lead.
It’s time to prioritize America and her law-abiding citizens. The level of intellectual dishonesty being used to justify illegal immigration and the failure of employers to use tools such as E-Verify validates the absence of any substantive rationale for doing so. The cost paid by American workers in the form of lower wages and increased strain on taxpayer-funded services like education, transportation and health care is being ignored by elected officials.
Lady Margaret Thatcher’s quip of her earlier aspirations fits today’s pathetic state of political affairs: “When I’m out of politics, I’m going to run a business; it’ll be called rent-a-spine.”
