Small earthquake hits Dalton, epicenter under I-75

A 2.4 magnitude earthquake struck Dalton and north Georgia last night.

It happened just before 8 p.m., according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

The epicenter was about three kilometers northwest of Dalton, underneath Interstate 75. It took place 18 kilometers underground.
