Homa Tavangar, author and advocate for global citizenship, will be featured in a free presentation for students, parents and area educators on Wednesday, at 7 p.m., in Frierson Theatre at Girls Preparatory School, 205 Island Ave.

The talk is part of her two-day visit to the private girls school. At GPS, she will explore daily ways families can practice and better understand global citizenship.

Prior to turning her sights on global education and parenting, she spent 20 years working in organizational, business and international development with hundreds of companies, nonprofit agencies, governments and international organizations.

Tavangar, a mother of three girls, was involved in the launch and release of the documentary, “Girl Rising.” She is on the board and executive committee of Tahirih Justice Center, which protects immigrant women and girls fleeing violence. She has been an advisor to the Pulitzer Center on Crisis Reporting.
