The city of Chattanooga is hosting the last “Stuff the Bus” school supply drive of the season next week.
A school bus will be parked outside of the City Hall building from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday. Those who want to donate school supplies may drive by and drop off their bags of supplies.
This is the last public event in United Way’s four-month-long campaign for the Hamilton County PTA’s Teacher Supply Depot.
The PTA Teacher Supply Depot plans to hold its first shopping day for teachers on Oct. 31. On average, more than 400 Hamilton County Department of Education public school teachers come by the Depot to “shop” for school supplies at no charge.
PTA officials said they will be able to increase the number of supplies each teacher can take this year, thanks to the success of United Way’s drive.
Donations are still accepted at United Way’s Offices at 630 Market St. downtown if supporters miss Stuff the Bus on Monday.
