WAAY-TV reports that Patrick Werszner fell 100 feet Sunday from a ledge at Stephens Gap Cave. Rescue teams were called in to help recover the body.
The cave is a popular spot for hiking.
The Southeastern Cave Conservancy, which owns Stephens Gap Cave Preserve, said it was reported that the man was not wearing cave gear and was not secured with a rope.
