Hamilton County Commissioner determined to return discretionary funds to county’s reserves

Hamilton County Commission Joe Graham says he’s not wavering over his decision to put $100,000 in discretionary funds for his district back into county coffers.

He’s going to do it, and if other commissioners seek to “hijack the money” then “shame on them,” Graham said today at a specially called press conference.

Graham on Wednesday proposed a resolution at a commission meeting that he would seek to put his share of a combined $900,000 in discretionary funds back into the county’s savings account.

On Thursday he said he was concerned because he had heard rumors that other commissioners were planning to amend his resolution and use the money for other projects.

Commissioners on Thursday said they were not planning to use the money, but some said they would entertain discussion on the prospect.
