Chattanooga State Community College’s entrance is pictured in this Google photo.Twenty-six Chattanooga employers will be seeking to hire military veterans at the fourth annual Paychecks for Patriots job fair on Thursday at Chattanooga State Community College, Health Science Center, 4501 Amnicola Highway, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The event is coordinated by Dollar General, Tennessee Department of Labor and Workforce Development, Tennessee Department of Military and the Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve.
“We have a very strict criteria for selecting these hiring employers,” said Burns Phillips, Tennessee’s commissioner of Labor and Workforce Development. “These are employers who both respect the military community and understand the quality of work these employees are capable of accomplishing.”
Veterans and their family members are encouraged to register online at http://1.usa.gov/1Et3BxR to receive a reminder and directions to the event later this week. The website not only allows job seekers to view participating employers, but also shows specific jobs they have available.
In addition to the Chattanooga location, P4P will be also be held at eight other cities across Tennessee Thursday, including Clarksville, Cookeville, Jackson, Johnson City, Knoxville, Memphis, Nashville, and Tullahoma.
