Help the homeless

When taking a drive through downtown Chattanooga, you may notice many people walking the streets. These people may be enjoying a nice stroll, but some are homeless. This is how some people live because of unfortunate circumstances that they have had to endure such as unemployment, poverty, mental health challenges and many other life-changing situations.

The Department of Housing and Urban Development’s Point in Time Count for the homeless in Chattanooga or 2015 was 635 people. These individuals cannot get back on their feet without some assistance from the citizens in Chattanooga.

What are some ways we can help? Volunteer at the Chattanooga Community Kitchen, local food banks, Chattanooga Room in the Inn, local churches and charities. Donate goods and money at any of these locations. It only takes one person to make a difference, but imagine what we could do if a whole community tries.
